Rokjesdag means “short skirt” day and it’s a term that was coined by a Dutch journalist to speak about that time of year in the spring when women start wearing short skirts again.

While not all women are fans of this term Rokjesdag, the Rokjesdagloop is a fun ladies’ event celebrating femininity.  There’s a 5K and 10K run starting from the Amsterdam Science Park in the east of Amsterdam.  Women are encouraged to dress up and wear skirts.
